Downhill
Downhill is an extreme discipline within mountain biking, focused on descending steep and technically demanding tracks at high speeds. The courses are designed on natural terrain and include jumps, sharp turns, rocky sections, and other natural and artificial obstacles that require advanced technical skills and full control of the bicycle.
This sport demands a high level of physical fitness, quick reflexes, courage, and intense concentration. Downhill represents a powerful combination of sport, adventure, and precision, while also offering a dynamic and exciting experience for spectators. As a competitive discipline, it is part of national and international cycling competitions and plays an important role in youth sports development and the promotion of active and adventure tourism.
The Center for Innovation and Development INOS has played a significant role in the development of downhill sport in the region. INOS was the initiator and active contributor in the construction of two downhill tracks – Toptash Downhill Lane and Sliva Downhill Lane, which have become recognized locations for downhill mountain biking.
Between 2015 and 2025, 11 downhill competitions were organized on these tracks, attracting riders from the country and the wider region. Through continuous event organization and ongoing track development, INOS has made a direct contribution to the promotion of downhill sport, the strengthening of local sports infrastructure, and the development of alternative and adventure tourism.
